Mustafa Ali Recalls Watching Wrestling With His Father At A Young Age, Wants To Break Down Barriers In Pro Wrestling

The master of the "054" is looking to change the game.

The man who will compete next Tuesday on 205 Live for a shot at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at WrestleMania, Mustafa Ali, talked with Tinted and he has his sights set on making waves within the pro wrestling industry.

Ali recalled his earliest memories of his love for wrestling; like watching 'Saturday Night's Main Event' with his father and revealed a hilarious story going back to his educational days where he shared with classmates that he would be a world champion one day.

“I specifically remember him putting me in his lap and we would watch Saturday Night Main Event and what not.” Ali added, “The funny story is that I was giving a presentation in class about how I was going to be a future champion and one of the guys mentioned his brother was a professional wrestler who had a school and were looking for students; after which he went for a try out and got selected."

Ali receives a number of comments on social media about his ethnicity which are unwarranted for, but that adds to Ali's fuel because he wants to change the world's perspective on all who are looked upon differently.

"So, we’re trying to change these pre-conceived ideas and knock down these barriers, these notions of what a guy with a name like Mustafa has to be portrayed as. That’s my goal.”

Last weekend when WWE stopped past Chicago for their 'Road To WrestleMania' tour, Ali who hails from "The Windy City" was able to have his daughter and wife front and center for his match.

“I had her wave to the crowd and she was like, ‘What is going on here’?”
