Phil Davis Faces Linton Vassell At Bellator 200
A light heavyweight division encounter is the latest addition to the Bellator 200 card as Phil Davis is in action against Linton Vassell.
Davis (18-4-0-1NC) has won five of six fights since coming to Bellator MMA in 2015, last defeating Leo Leite by decision at Bellator 186. Davis is also a former Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight Champion, defeating Liam McGeary by decision to win the gold at Bellator 163. Davis spent nearly six years competing in the UFC, winning nine of thirteen bouts in the promotion.
Vassell (18-6-0) is competing for the first time since losing a Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight Title shot to Ryan Bader at Bellator 186 in November of last year. Vassell has defeated two former Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight Champions prior to getting the aforementioned title shot, with those wins coming over Emmanuel Newton and Liam McGeary. Vassell has also defeated a pair of UFC veterans during his time in Bellator MMA, with those vets being Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou and Francis Cramont.
Bellator 200 takes place on Friday, May 25 from the SSE Arena in London, England with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs via tape delay on the Paramount Network.
