Jessica Andrade, Ilir Latifi, Marion Reneau Win Top-10 Fights At UFC Orlando (Full Fight Video Highlights)
Three fighters put stamps on their top ten opponents Saturday night at UFC Orlando.
#2 Jessica Andrade fought back and defeated #5 Tecia Torres after a slow start. Andrade could have very well put herself in position for another championship fight, less than a year after she dropped her last one. Her opponent in Torres started out strong, but the pressure and pace of Andrade eventually caught up to the smaller Torres. This allowed Andrade to gain the advantage and repeatedly muscle Torres to the ground on the way to a unanimous decision victory.
#8 Ilir Latifi turned heads in a UFC Light Heavyweight division starving for contenders. After a couple of left hands dropped #5 Ovince Saint Preux, Latifi jumped on the opportunity with a guillotine choke that would put OSP out as the referee didn't see him tap out. Latifi is on a hot streak right now, winning five of his last six UFC fights. During his post-fight speech, Latifi would call out current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier, who is currently slated to take on Stipe Miocic for the UFC Heavyweight Championship in July.
#8 Marion Reneau also wants in the title conversation at bantamweight after submitting #7 Sara McMann. The former Olympian in McMann was able to control the first round with a takedown and a crucifix. Reneau turned the tides in round two on her way to a triangle choke submission. Reneau has went unbeaten in her last four fights, and her last loss came before that in a highly disputed split decision loss to Ashlee Evans-Smith.
