After having to deal with the infamous ImplantGate last year in Buffalo, Pearl Gonzalez is hoping to rebound from a rough patch in her career and looks to do it in Invicta FC.
Gonzalez signed with Invicta after a couple of UFC losses, and even she knows that a little more seasoning could help her along in her career.
"The UFC decided that I need some more work, and I agree. I've always wanted to fight for Invicta and was a little bummed I never got the opportunity to, so here's my chance! I'm signed with Invicta right now. The hope is to fight a couple of times and get back to the UFC," said Gonzalez.
Before making her way into MMA, Gonzalez's aunt actually pitched a rather unconventional wrestling character for Gonzalez, who admits she's been asked about the idea of moving into wrestling as well.
"It's so funny, someone asked me that the other day. I don't know, it looks fun. I'd be a villain for sure. My aunt told me before I got into MMA 'We'll get into pro wrestling, and you'll be the CLAM! You'll open your arms and suck them into your clam! I watched it when I was a kid. I remember Stone Cold Steve Austin, I was a big fan of his and The Rock at the time. My husband's a huge fan of the Rock, so we watch his motivational videos. It's so cool to see someone who is so motivated and reaps the benefits of his hard work," said Gonzalez.
