WWE Main Event Report For February 16: Heath Slater vs. Curt Hawkins & Cedric Alexander In Action

– Vic Joseph & Nigel McGuinness welcome us to this weeks edition of WWE Main Event.

Heath Slater w/Rhyno vs. Curt Hawkins

The match begins with Slater applying the headlock to Hawkins, Slater releases the hold to nail Hawkins with a shoulder tackle and forearm strike. Hawkins rolls out of the ring and he attacks Rhyno, Slater catches a distracted Hawkins with a baseball slide drop kick. Hawkins gets back in the ring and he drops Hawkins neck first on the top rope, Hawkins then slams Slater on the ring apron. Hawkins attacks Slater with strikes before applying a chin lock in the ring, Slater fights back and Hawkins drops him with a clothesline for a near fall. Hawkins stands over Slater while assaulting him with strikes, Hawkins reapplies the chin lock to Slater.

Slater breaks free by crushing Hawkins with a back suplex, Slater starts nailing Hawkins with a bunch of strikes that ends with a knee strike. Slater then hits Hawkins with a neck breaker for a near fall, Hawkins fights back and he catches Slater with a Michinoku Driver for a near fall. Hawkins goes to the top rope and Slater crotches him, Slater goes to the top rope and Hawkins shoves him off. Hawkins nails Slater with a top rope elbow drop for a near fall, Slater catches Hawkins in a roll up from out of nowhere for the three count.

Winner: Heath Slater w/Rhyno

– The first Raw flashback of the night shows John Cena defeating WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz in a non-title match to make The Miz #1 in the men’s Elimination Chamber match.

– A Smackdown Live flashback is next, in which we see how Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin got added to the WWE Championship Match at WWE Fast Lane.

Cedric Alexander vs. Ariya Daivari

The match begins with Daivari working over Alexander with a headlock, Daivari then drops Alexander with a shoulder tackle. Daivari then starts working over the arm of Alexander, Alexander gains control after catching Daivari with a hip toss. Alexander then hits Daivari with a head scissors takedown followed by a drop kick, Alexander decides to wrench away on the arm of Daivari. Daivari backs Alexander into the corner and Alexander attacks him with chops, Alexander goes for a springboard clothesline and Daivari shoves him to the arena floor as we go to a commercial break.

We return from the break to see Daivari nail Alexander with a super kick, Daivari goes to the top rope and he nails Alexander with a frog splash for a near fall. Daivari goes for a hammerlock lariat and Alexander counters with the Lumbar Check for the three count.

Winner: Cedric Alexander

– An Asuka highlight video airs.

– A final Raw flashback airs and we see how Seth Rollins got a chance to qualify for the men’s Elimination Chamber match. We then see how both Rollins and Finn Balor got the double pin on Bray Wyatt to qualify for the men’s Elimination Chamber match.
