Chris Jericho Says He Won’t Do A Retirement Tour Or Match Just For Money
Chris Jericho isn’t in it for the money.
A huge question mark has been surrounding Chris Jericho’s longevity for months at this point, with many fans believing that he should retire from the world of pro wrestling. Jericho has often pushed back on those fans, saying that he isn’t really thinking about the end of his career at this point.
Retirement tours are a popular topic of conversation in the world of wrestling, as John Cena is embarking on a year-long escapade in 2025. On the other hand, Chris Jericho isn’t a fan of doing a retirement tour for money.
“It is, but I’ve never done anything for money.” Jericho said while speaking with Z100 New York for a new interview. “Honestly, never have. When I was 19, I was wrestling, not for money, because there was no money to be made. I was putting 55 cents of gas in my car because that’s all I had. If you do stuff that you love, the money always follows. If you do something for money, it usually never works out the way you want it to. To me, I’ll know when it’s time, and we’ll go from there. For right now, I’m still enjoying this at the highest of levels that you can enjoy something. People are like, ‘You still enjoy it?’ If I didn’t enjoy it, I wouldn’t do it. There is no way I would do it at this point in time.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Jericho named Dave Bautista as his favorite wrestler turned actor. Learn more about those comments by clicking here.
