At NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed, the Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake and Zack Gibson) defended the NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship against West Coast Wrecking Crew (Jorel Nelson and Royce Isaacs). The two teams battled back and forth, and Grizzled Young Veterans showcased their experience throughout the bout.
In the closing moments, Drake used his scarf to gain an unfair advantage. Grizzled Young Veterans went for Grit Your Teeth, but Nelson stopped them. Isaacs then rolled Drake up for the win.

After the bell, Rocky Romero came out and challenged West Coast Wrecking Crew to defend the titles against him and YOH at NJPW Battle in the Valey.
