Marigold ‘Super Rookie’ Seri Yamaoka Names Debut Opponent For First Dream
Marigold’s “super rookie” Seri Yamaoka selected her debut opponent following her public practice on Tuesday.
Seri Yamaoka is set to begin her career in one of the most anticipated rookie debut matches ever.
Marigold announced on August 17th that their newest trainee would make her pro wrestling debut at Marigold First Dream on January 3rd at the Ota Ward Gymnasium. The announcement came in Yamaoka’s official introduction as the company’s newest roster member. After months of waiting, the “Super Rookie” also has an official debut opponent.
During a public practice on Tuesday, Seri Yamaoka requested that MIRAI would be her debut opponent, which Marigold owner and booker Rossy Ogawa agreed to. MIRAI is a former Wonder of Stardom Champion and two-time Cinderella Tournament winner from her time in STARDOM. She currently reigns alongside Mai Sakurai as the TwinStar Tag Team Champions.
The debut match for the 18-year-old is arguably the most anticipated debut in Joshi wrestling since the debut of Utami Hayashishita in 2018.
Based on the footage provided by Marigold, Yamaoka is bringing her amateur wrestling background to the squared circle, showcasing grappling techniques and multiple suplexes.
Seri Yamaoka’s debut will air live on WRESTLE UNIVERSE on January 3rd as part of Marigold First Dream.
