On the December 7 episode of AEW Collision, AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita and Don Callis were interviewed backstage, and they were asked to comment on what was next. Callis noted that they were after more superlatives. Powerhouse Hobbs interrupted and noted that the Don Callis Family seemingly forgot about him while he was out with an injury. Hobbs pointed at Takeshita’s title and said that he wanted it. Hobbs said he was taking everything from everything.

Callis tried to reason with Hobbs but agreed that he deserved a shot, as he deserved better than he was getting. Callis said that they were busy, as Takeshita had upcoming matches in Japan and Portugal, so he had to get with his people. He said they would get back to him, and Hobbs warned Callis that he had better keep his word.

As of this writing, AEW has not confirmed whether Hobbs will face Takeshita.

Hobbs is a former member of the Don Callis Family. He had been sidelined for multiple matches after suffering an injury on the April 24 episode of AEW Dynamite. Hobbs returned on the November 6 episode of AEW Dynamite, where it was revealed that he was no longer a member of the Don Callis Family.
