Bryan Danielson wrapped up his full-time in-ring career at AEW WrestleDream in October, where he lost the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley. Danielson had been dealing with a neck injury, and his future as an in-ring competitor is unclear. Other wrestlers continue to express their hope that they could potentially face him someday.

Speaking on the Shining Wizards Podcast, Josh Barnett was commenting on major names who could potentially come to Bloodsport at some point. When he was asked about the possibility of Bryan Danielson, he noted that he wanted to make it happen, but it felt impossible. However, he made it clear that he wanted to face Bryan Danielson before he retired.

“With Bryan Danielson, yeah, 100%. I just don’t think about throwing his name out there because I just feel like it’s impossible, but I hope that if he’s gonna retire, then I at least get a chance to meet him in the ring at least one time. I’ve known him forever, we’ve done tours together, I’ve trained him on submission wrestler at times, a great guy, another Washingtonian,” Barnett said.

During the interview, Barnett commented on Shelton Benjamin potentially competing at a Bloodsport event. Click here to see what he had to say.
