Roman Reigns On Speaking To Cody Rhodes After WM XL: If You Want To Babyface For Four Hours, I’m Not Waiting

Roman Reigns explains why he didn’t wait around to chat with Cody Rhodes after Cody defeated him for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at WWE WrestleMania XL.

Wrestling traditions be damned if they come at the expense of Roman Reigns waiting around after a main event match at WrestleMania. After Cody Rhodes finished his story and captured the WWE Title from Roman at WrestleMania, Reigns and Rhodes did not talk with one another after the match.

Appearing on the SI Media Podcast, Reigns explained that he did not wait around to talk to Cody after the match, citing Cody’s long post-match celebration as one of the reasons why.

“No. If you want to sit out there and babyface for four hours, I ain’t waiting. Especially at that point,” he said.

Even without the long celebration, Roman Reigns did not appear interested in waiting around for pleasantries. He would say that he and Cody Rhodes were fully aware of what they accomplished that night.

“What’s waiting? What kind of time are we talking about here? We have to keep it moving. I don’t live in Philly. There is some jet fuel to be burnt and I had to go. We know what we did. We were both out there. You can thank each other and all that old stuff. We put our bodies on the line together and that’s thanks enough.”

There you have it, directly from the Tribal Chief.

Fans can read why Roman Reigns chose to crack Seth Rollins in the back with the chair during that match, ultimately leading to his downfall, here.
