Report: Vacant WBO Female Super Flyweight Title Bout Set

Tamao Ozawa will get another crack at a WBO Female world championship title.

According to a report by Asian Boxing, Ozawa will travel to Germany to fight Raja Amasheh for the vacant WBO Female super flyweight world title on March 10.

Ozawa's last fight was a fifth-round TKO win over Eun Young Huh in Kyoto last September. The fight was a solid rebound performance after Ozawa lost to Su Yun Hong by split decision last year. That fight saw Ozawa move down a couple of weights to challenge for the then-vacant WBO junior flyweight title and it was Ozawa's first world title fight. Ozawa is also a former OBPF Female super flyweight champion.

The fight against Amasheh will be Ozawa's toughest to date. Aside from being the current WBC Silver champion at super flyweight, Amasheh also owned two minor WBF world titles at flyweight and super flyweight. Amasheh has fought the likes of Eva Voraberger, Teeraporn Oannimitt and Ana Arrazola. Amasheh has not fought since last March when she scored a unanimous decision win over Kleopatra Tolnai.

The undercard will feature a couple of top European prospects including undefeated Mirco Martin and Leo Levani who will be fighting in separate fights against opponents to be named later. The winner of the main event will join Guadalupe Martínez Guzmán (WBC), Linda Laura Lecca (WBA) and Débora Anahí Dionicius (IBF) as boxing's current female super flyweight world champions.
