Aljamain Sterling Sterling Faces Brett Johns At UFC Fight Night Atlantic City
A bantamweight division fight first reported by Newsday is set for UFC Fight Night Atlantic City as #9 Aljamain Sterling is in action against #14 Brett Johns.
Sterling (14-3-0) has won two of his last five under the UFC banner and is coming off of a loss to former WSOF Bantamweight Champion Marlon Moraes at UFC Fight Night Fresno. Sterling has also seen four of his last five bouts in the UFC go the distance and the competitor has a 2-2-0 record in those encounters. Sterling is also a former Cage Fury Fighting Championships Bantamweight Champion, defeating Sean Santella at CFFC 11 to win the strap.
Johns (15-0-0) has already competed three times in the UFC, defeating the trio of Kwan Ho Kwak, Albert Morales and Joe Soto. Johns is also a former Titan Fighting Championships and Cage Warriors Fighting Championships Bantamweight Champion, defeating the duo of Jordan Desborough and Anthony Gutierrez to begin both reigns. Johns enters the contest undefeated as a professional MMA fighter and that streak has lasted nearly six years.
UFC Fight Night Atlantic City takes place on Saturday, April 21 from the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
