Big EThis continues to a be a big year for contracts in wrestling, and we’ve got clarification on one deal, or at least how it stood in the Summer. In 2019, New Day and WWE announced the trio had all signed five-year contracts, with Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston and Big E signed until the end of 2024. We’ve not learned about the status of Woods or Kofi, and any possible injury time or re-signings or extensions, but we did learn a little more about Big E as speculation runs rampant ahead of the New Day ten year celebration. Those that Fightful spoke to within WWE said that they don’t believe that injury time was added to Big E’s deal as of this Summer. He’s been sidelined since early 2022 due to a broken neck. However, we’ve not learned if he’d re-signed or got on a new deal since then. However, it would make sense for WWE to not add injury time to his deal, as the contract they signed with him was under the expectation that he’d be an in-ring talent. He's been appearing on digital content, making appearances, and panels, which counts towards his deal.At least two people close to him referred to Big E as "retired" well over a year ago, though he's not made that himself. The RockWWE is preparing for a WrestleMania without the Rock.On Monday's WWE Post-Raw show on Fightful with Sean Ross Sapp and Ibou, Sapp noted that he doesn't believe The Rock will be working WrestleMania, based on things he'd heard. Dr. Chris Featherstone also noted that creative was operating as if he wouldn't be working the event, which Fightful has also heard is true.Dave Meltzer had stated a while back that the Rock had informed WWE he wouldn't be available, to which the Rock posted on Instagram to "not believe that shit." At the time, people in WWE pushed back on that, but numerous confirmed that there are creative plans being put in motion on the assumption that The Rock will not be working WrestleMania. This is with the realistic notion that with The Rock, anything is possible, and subject to change, much like Bad Blood.WWE sources told Fightful that The Rock's Bad Blood appearance was to simply get him on screen and didn't have a major direction or plot point they were furthering. While they knew Rock appearing would be a possibility, they found out for sure that week, which is why the Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk Hell in a Cell match opened the PLE. The Rock was around all day and pulled up in plain view in his pickup truck before the show. The Rock just finished filming the live action Moana, which will be subject to re-shoots in 2026. Fightful Select is told that Cody Rhodes and The Rock "filmed something" at the Moana premiere, that may or may not end up seeing the light of day, but the context on that was not provided. The Rock referred to Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and Nick Khan as "WWE family" in a recent Moana promotional interview.Anyone pretending that anyone else reported that The Rock is "100 percent out" for WrestleMania isn't being genuine, and nobody would supply that information knowing the Rock.HologramHologram has been out of action, and we’ve learned why. The 25-year old Hologram made an incredible impression with AEW fans, and won a two out of three falls match against The Beast Mortos at the AEW WrestleDream PPV. We’re told that he was to be a big factor in AEW’s new Mexican TV deal, but that will have to wait.Hologram hasn’t been seen on AEW programming in nearly two months since the match, with AEW sources telling Fightful Select he’s been out of action with an injury. The belief within the company is that it was a serious ankle injury that had him sidelined. We don't have a timetable on his return as of yet.Contrary to popular belief, Harleygram was actually portrayed by Harley Cameron, not Hologram himself.Ryan NemethSome of the aftershock of CM Punk’s issues within AEW are still being felt. The newest, in the form of a complaint regarding Ryan Nemeth and his exit from AEW earlier this year.Fightful has obtained a complaint sent to numerous executives within All Elite Wrestling back in September, in which Ryan Nemeth outlined a timeline of events that he says highlight abuse, harassment, and threats he faced while working in AEW. Note that these are the individual claims of Nemeth himself, primarily as outlined in the document sent to numerous AEW executives. The complaint was dated on September 12, and noted that though the abuse stemmed from now-WWE Superstar Phil Brooks/CM Punk, his real issue was that AEW failed to respond to any of the incidents and was encouraged to cut a promo antagonizing Punk. Nemeth includes a timeline, which he claims he also possesses emails, texts, phone call logs and other records. Punk is also referred to as “a former AEW talent who also had an undisclosed (i.e. not publicly known) Executive/Producer/Manager title with AEW.”On April 16, 2023, Nemeth claims he contacted then AEW Legal rep Megha Parekh with concerns he’d be targeted by Brooks. Nemeth says that on June 21, 2023, Brooks did threaten him in an AEW locker room. Nemeth claims that Tony Schiovane, Parekh, and the Young Bucks all showed him empathy, and says he’s assured his relationship with AEW won’t be impacted, though it doesn’t specify who assured him.Nemeth notes that he was not booked for two months after this incident, and that Jon Moxley contacted him and said it didn’t sit right with him, and supported him through the timeline. Nemeth says on July 17, 2023, he contacted Parekh to communicate that he was upset AEW had not responded to the June 21 locker room incident, and said he believed he’d be “silently fired.” Specifically, he believed that his exclusive paid-per-appearance deal would be allowed to expire. Nemeth claims that he felt he was being punished, but was assured by Parekh that speaking up wouldn’t impact his job. Fightful Select had reported the Punk confrontation stemmed from a tweet of Nemeth's of which he called Punk "literally the softest man alive," which Nemeth claimed was in character. On August 12, Nemeth was booked for the first time in two months, confirming a story that Fightful Select had reported at the time. Upon arriving to Greensboro for an AEW show, Nemeth is asked to leave. AEW’s Pat Buck had originally told Nemeth that there was travel confusion before confirming that Brooks demanded he be removed from the venue. At the time, Fightful Select spoke to numerous sources in AEW who confirmed this to be the case, and mentioned that there were several talent that were kept off of the show. Nemeth says he has an audio recording some of his interactions that day.Nemeth says he contacted Parekh again, pleading for action to be taken. He was flown to the August 16 show. His wording in the document was “ordered to to verbally antagonize the “World Champion” (Brooks is AEW Collision World Champion at the time) in a promo in front of the live crowd, taped for AEW programming.Nemeth claims that after speaking to AEW legal and HR that day, there is no appropriate response to anything in the situation. Megha Parekh had abruptly left her role in AEW Legal, and Nemeth was instead dealing with Chris Peck and Margaret Stalvey. After Brooks’ incident with Jack Perry at AEW All Out 2023, Nemeth was asked to speak to outside counsel as they were investigating the situation. Nemeth said that he communicated that he’d been speaking up regarding the pattern of behavior for months, and was concerned about being made the fall guy for Brooks’ behavior. Those we spoke to said the conversation was more to determine the course of action moving forward with Brooks in AEW, as opposed to rectifying issues between Nemeth, Brooks and AEW. Nemeth says he’s told that his contract will not be left to expire while continuing to communicate his concerns of such.Nemeth worked for AEW for the final time on November 18, 2023, with Brooks returning to WWE later that week. He claims that he believed Khan and AEW hold him responsible for having to fire Brooks, and leading to his AEW return. Nemeth’s contract expired in March of 2024, and he says that Sonjay Dutt had made repeated creative pitches for him that went ignored. After the completion of the outlined timeline, Nemeth says that AEW Legal rep Chris Peck communicated a settlement interest that would equal approximately three years of his salary, dependent on signing an NDA on the matter. Nemeth’s document says he was appreciative of the offer and wanted to discuss it but his legal counsel that the offer was no longer an option. Nemeth’s document also claims that Peck told him he’d “be placed in an antagonistic position to Megha if things ever escalated to arbitration,” but Nemeth claimed to always have a positive and respectful working relationship with Parekh. Nemeth has also claimed that Peck threatened to sue him in response to sending the aforementioned timeline.Nemeth says that he’s met with mental health professionals over the matter, and is seeking policy change and the financial consideration that was discussed. He stated that he felt the AEW roster was full of amazing people who deserved to be in a safe environment, and didn’t necessarily believe Brooks was the catalyst for the contrary, as he thinks it would likely be someone else. He claimed that specifically, these concerns fell on deaf ears to Chris Peck and AEW, and that others have communicated those issues to Peck. The document noted that AEW Legal and HR received the timeline, but not Peck himself as things had reached a stonewall with him. He also said that Megha Parekh, the Young Bucks, and Jon Moxley were helpful during the situationWe’re told that Nemeth did speak to Tony Khan and others in AEW months ago, and that Khan had entertained the idea of Nemeth returning to AEW. However, Nemeth didn’t wish to. Fightful did reach out to AEW about the matter, but have not heard back as of yet. Jade CargillJade Cargill’s status gains a little more clarity.Cargill was written off WWE TV recently with a mystery attacker angle. Fightful was immediately told by WWE sources they were informed that it was due to a legitimate injury. Since then, conflicting info has emerged from various outlets, ranging from her not being injured at all, or being out several months. We don’t have information on a timetable regarding Jade Cargill’s return, but internally, she was listed on the injured list. Those that we’ve spoken to say that she claims that she’s injured, but we’ve not heard specifics on the actual injury.MLW SigningSean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has learned that MLW has signed another young star to a multi-year agreement.Brett Ryan Gosselin is signing with Major League Wrestling after receiving a multi-year contract. BRG is currently a member of the Rogue Horsemen alongside Bobby Fish, CW Anderson, and Brock Anderson. The group, a spiritual successor to the Extreme Horsemen stable from MLW's early years, is poised for a major 2025. The original group featured CW Anderson, Steve Corino, and Barry Windham.A source at MLW tells Fightful Select that Brett Ryan Gosselin is viewed as a major breakout star in the company. He briefly worked without a deal but impressed those within MLW enough that he was approached with a contract. Sources say that Court Bauer sees a lot of similarities between BRG and the aforementioned Steve Corino.Gosselin's signing rounds out a strong year for MLW. The promotion was able to secure several top stars, signing them to multi-year deals. MLW also sold out eleven straight events. The upcoming MLW One Shot on December 5 will be the 12th sellout. MLW was also able to expand into new markets, including Chicago, Atlanta, and Tampa.Juice RobinsonJuice Robinson is officially replaced in the Continental Classic.Robinson was removed from the Continental Classic on December 3 and replaced with Komander. We're told that Robinson didn't get X rays until December 2 and appeared at Wrestlecade hoping it was a bad sprain. We wish Juice a speedy recoveryGuntherWWE is zeroing in on a new deal with a top star.WWE sources claimed to Fightful on December 2 that World Heavyweight Gunther was closing in on a new contract. He told Sean that Helms would get a free hotel room and let him stay with him. Trevor said he would just listen to his stories. He told Sean that one of the last things he got to do before he left the WWE was work with Shane Helms on producing for Logan Paul. He said he got to be part of the learning process, including producing and watching Shane call Logan Paul’s match with Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. Trevor said it was cool sitting in gorilla hearing spots that I got to help with and get the reactions that we got. Trevor said it was a big high, but then two weeks later, he got the call that they were releasing him.Sean mentioned Trevor getting a haircut soon after leaving the WWE. Trevor said he got a haircut after he left the WWE because everything had to be approved by them, and he no longer had anyone telling him what he couldn’t do.Trevor spoke about his days in the Indies and how they shaped his career. Trevor said he worked with CWF Mid-Atlantic in North Carolina. They have an environment that allows experimentation and storytelling matches lasting over an hour or longer. Wrestling without an audience during training sessions helped build the endurance and mental fortitude required for these grueling bouts. Exposure to international talent, such as Zack Sabre Jr., expanded their skill set.Trevor spoke about collaborating with people in NXT. Sean mentioned his history with Swerve Strickland, Steve Maclin, and Kushida. Lee mentioned getting to wrestle one of his role models, Finn Balor. They spoke about some of his hour or more matches, and Sean mentioned the fitness aspect. Sean noted his interest in the NXT Combine. He mentioned being Inspired by Claudio Castagnoli and John Morrison. Trevor said they were constantly pushed to their limits by having challenging workouts. Lee noted that physical excellence extended to NXT combines, where metrics like 40-yard dash times and vertical jumps revealed the athleticism behind the personas.Trevor told Sean that making a career in professional wrestling is challenging enough, but competing alongside the athletic Montez Ford, Bron Breakker, and Trick Williams feels like stepping into an entirely different league. Trevor added that the experience was humbling and inspiring. Sean and Trevor talked about the iconic Million Dollar Championship belt. It’s a piece of wrestling history.”The creative evolution of his Cameron Grimes persona went from “Carolina Caveman” to a wealthy, Scrooge-type figure. Trevor recalled WWE’s creative team running with the idea: “We had the luxury of using WWE’s incredible resources to produce these crazy vignettes. Before long, the Million Dollar Belt was back.”Trevor said the storyline resonated deeply with LA Knight, who grew up watching the belt's prominence. “Seeing him fanboy over it made the whole thing even more fun.”In closing, Sean and Trevor discussed his journey from North Carolina to Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG). Trevor said, “PWG was a pivotal chapter in his career. Wrestling alongside fellow North Carolinians Cedric Alexander, Adam Page, and Andrew Everett. In closing, Trevor shared his journey from North Carolina to Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG). He recounted how Kevin Steen (Kevin Owens) recognized his potential after a match with Cedric Alexander in Charlotte. A year later, Lee received a call to wrestle in PWG. “I had to double-check it wasn’t a local North Carolina promotion,” he joked. Trevor debuted his PWG in a triple-threat match alongside Alexander and Andrew Everett. Despite initial skepticism from the PWG crowd, Lee won them over. During that match, an earthquake struck, but the crowd’s energy overshadowed it. “That first PWG match changed my life,” Lee said. He remembered showing his boss the highlight video at his frozen yogurt job and realizing he was done with regular jobs.Trevor’s PWG tenure included memorable matches, such as facing the Young Bucks and participating in Kevin Steen’s farewell match before his WWE debut. “That match solidified me as a PWG talent,” Lee said. He considers himself a “homegrown PWG guy,” despite hailing from North Carolina. His journey is a testament to his dedication and love for wrestling. You can follow Trevor on X or Instagram at @TrevorLeePro.Watch the interview in full on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY2SigZQEyM. Leon CageFightful’s Corey Brennan sat down with one of the UK’s hottest prospects in Leon Cage for an interview, you can check out the early notes from the interview below. At the beginning of the interview, Corey asked Leon about going viral earlier this year with a new move he had debuted on the scene. Leon told Corey that it was a ‘crazy’ sequence of events, noting that he had completed the move in training repeatedly before debuting it in a match. Leon noted that he didn’t think much of it after the show, but was bombarded with requests to upload the clip by other talent, such as Mark Andrews. Cage also noted that he definitely felt some pressure following the clip blowing up, but has been taking things as they go, but has also began focusing on getting into better shape with more attention being on him.Moving on to Leon’s recent 229 on December debut for RevPro, Cage explained that it felt like a dream for him, not only on this occasion, but another previous match he had with Michael Oku back in October. Leon admitted he was nervous prior to the rematch, but said the match couldn’t have gone better in his mind. When asked why he believes more teenagers like Billie Starkz and Nick Wayne are getting more attention than in years prior, Cage noted his belief that the new generation's passion for the sport is a primary reason for him. On working with Connor Mills, Leon reflected on his matches with Mills fondly, sharing that he actually found out last minute about their first match together, with Mills getting stuck in traffic prior to arriving at the venue.Leon also reflected on The Young Bucks’ putting their own spin on his viral move, admitting that he’s been a fan of the Bucks’ since he was a child, as well as Will Ospreay who also acknowledged his viral clip. When asked what his goals were for 2025, Leon stated that he hopes to be a consistent face on RevPro shows in the future.European Wrestling Round UpFightful Select’s Corey Brennan has learned the following details from around the European Wrestling World.- Prior to PROGRESS Chapter 173 on November 17th, the promotion went through stringent measures to make sure Session Moth Martina was ready to go following her concussion at OTT’s Tenth Anniversary. - There’s been a significant buzz within the Spanish Wrestling scene for Michael Oku vs Iker Navarro’s rematch in RCW Spain. Personally, I want KO to beat Cody for the titlePersonally, I think they should do something major. They should set the tone that these shows are worth watching, especially if you're going to have another one the week before Royal Rumble. They're already guaranteed to have a new U.S. ChampionHey Sean, hope you’re well. Heard any interesting names to join the Moné Cooperation?I've long heard that the Renegade Twins were being discussed to work with Mercedes Mone. I think they eventually will.Hey Sean! Did we ever get a definitive answer as to what happened with the AEW Triple Crown? They announced the titles as a unified title, and then shortly after started splitting them off piece meal.Eddie Kingston holding a NJPW Title was a big factor in him winning the tournament, and AEW can't change that championship holder at their own will. That played a big role in it, and I think the concept was a novelty from the jump as a result. Are there any special plans for the January 1 AEW show from Asheville? I’ll be there and they’re advertising “The Mother of all Simulcasts”It's just a hunch or assumption, but I'd be surprised if Adam Copeland isn't involved, as he's lived in the area for years. He and FTR were a major reason AEW decided to run that venue. It's being promoted as that because it's the first MAX/TBS simulcast of AEW.Hi Sean. I didn’t watch Survivor Series all the way through however I couldn’t help but notice the ring announcer seemed to be doing her best Samantha Irvin impression. Who was it please? That's Alicia Taylor, and I don't think she's doing a Samantha Irvin impression. She actually trained Samantha Irvin. Is it true that AEW is headed toward smaller arenas in the future? The shows are so quiet lately due to the fact its in a half empty arena and need to look back at their live event plan.Yes, they are, and more unique venues as well. GalaxyCon, Hammerstein Ballroom. There are a lot of smaller venues that they'll be running compared to NBA sized venues. We saw it with this week's Dynamite and it worked well.
