Jim Ross: They Never Approached Me For ‘Mr. McMahon’ Interview, I’ve Got Everything They’d Be Looking For
Jim Ross worked for WWE for over two decades, filling many roles including lead play-by-play announcer and Executive Vice President of Talent Relations.
Ross worked closely with Vince McMahon during his time in the company, including on-screen interactions where McMahon would try to embarrass him.
Despite his position in WWE and ties to McMahon, Ross was not interviewed for Netflix’s “Mr. McMahon,” a six-part docuseries on McMahon’s life and career.
“When I heard about it being made, I suspected my agent Barry Bloom would have something in that space. They never approached us. Bill Simmons’s crew never approached us. I’m not sure I would have done it anyway. It depends on what they were looking for. I’ve got everything they would be looking for. Sensationalism, all these things. Working for Vince was an adventure. Following him around was a sprint. I would have had to think about it, but nonetheless, I never got a call on it to see if I was interested,” Ross said on Grilling JR.
Ross said he has not seen the documentary in full, but has read reviews and seen clips.
Consulting producer David Shoemaker said that he wanted to interview Ross as part of the series. You can find his comments by clicking here.
