Ailin Perez might have missed weight, but she still got the job done and still popped ass.
Ailin Perez defeated Darya Zheleznyakova with a first-round arm-triangle choke at UFC Paris, earning her first submission victory in the octagon. Unfortunately, going into the fight, Perez missed weight by .5 pounds. She was fined 20% of her purse, but the fight still went on as scheduled, and Perez remained a favorite to score the victory.
She made up for the fine and missing weight by scoring a dominant victory, even with a submission as she had claimed she wanted to do going into the fight, and twerked on her opponent following the win. The twerk has become something of a signature for Perez.
