Big E Says He’s Getting Neck Scans In Three-To-Six Months To See If He’s Healthy Enough To Return
On the March 11, 2022 episode of WWE SmackDown, Big E suffered a neck injury when he landed on his head following a belly-to-belly suplex from Ridge Holland. Big E fractured his C1 vertebrae and C6 vertebrae but didn’t suffer any ligament or spinal cord damage.
Big E has often stated that he is able to live a normal day-to-day life and has no issues with pain or discomfort. He previously said that his “C1 is healing fibrously, which is great for normal day-to-day life, but it’s not turning into new bone and ossifying yet,’ which is what is needed for him to be cleared.
Speaking to Kyle Odegard of Sports Talk Philly, Big E revealed he’ll be seeing a doctor in the coming months for his next scan.
“More than anything, I’m just taking every day as it comes. I know that sounds like a cliche. But I get scans again in another three-to-six months, and if they look great and the doctors say it’s healthy for me to go back, then that’s something where we’ll sit down and talk about it. But I try not to spend too much time worrying about things I can’t control. It’s nice to know that if I get the opportunity to get back in the ring, and I can do it healthily, then let’s do that. Let’s attack it fully. But if not, I know exactly what I want to do, and I’m excited about that path, too,” he said.
Big E has been doing stem cell treatment to help with his recovery.
He has participated in the Kickoff Shows and helped with NIL campus recruiting while away from the ring.
Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston have referenced Big E on television recently, noting that things were different when he was around and they didn’t need as much help from others.
Fightful wishes Big E the best in his continued recovery.
