Tony Khan has been at the helm of AEW creative since the company launched, and he has led the company to where it is today. However, many ideas haven’t seen the light of day.

Speaking on Rasslin’ with Brandon F. Walker, Orange Cassidy noted that Tony Khan, who was off-screen as a producer, comes up with great professional wrestling names for fun.

“Tony Khan comes up with some great professional wrestling names. Fun [names], this is like if you were gonna have somebody go on TV and get beat up for three minutes, this would be that guy,” Cassidy said.

Cassidy then pulled out his phone and read from a list of names. He read examples like “High Risk” Ronnie Rice and “Bedtime” Pete Benitez.

“Tony, this is probably your best one. High Risk Ronnie Rice. Maybe it’s Bedtime Pete Benitez. That sounds great though. That’s great. That’s actually a really good name. That is a fourth-floor pandemic era [name],” Cassidy said.

Walker then asked Khan if actually names wrestlers, and Khan said that he did, but just for fun. He cited Rice and Benitez as two examples. Cassidy also clarified that he was kidding and admitted that he should be sure to emphasize that.

“Sometimes I forget that people will get mad at Tony for saying, ‘Oh, you think ‘High Risk’ Ronnie Rice’ is a good name?’ They don’t understand that he’s joking around. I keep forgetting that. I should do a better job of, ‘No, he’s not serious,'” Cassidy said.

Cassidy resumed reading the list and brought up “The Current” Blaze Voltage and Tony “The Big Dog” Tiger. Khan then chimed in with perhaps the best name of them all.

Tony Khan: Left Nut Mike Ramirez (laughs.)

Orange Cassidy: Yeah, Left Nut Mike Ramirez. I didn’t know if you wanted me to say that. Johnny Depp’s Cousin. That’s what it says, that’s one of the names. It just says Johnny Depp’s cousin.

As of this writing, there is no word on whether Left Nut Mike Ramirez will ever appear on AEW programming.

Fightful will have coverage of AEW Dynamite as it airs on September 18th, as well as a post-show podcast on our YouTube channel.
