Jeff Jarrett Says That He Heard It Costs $20 Million To Run An Event At The Sphere In Las Vegas

Jeff Jarrett talks wrestling in the Sphere.

On September 14, UFC made their debut in the venue with their UFC 306 event. The show was a massive success for the company, bringing in $22 million dollars in ticket sales alone.

In recent weeks, fans have continued to speculate about the sport of professional wrestling possibly coming to the venue. Earlier this year, Fightful Select had a report about different wrestling promotions inquiring with the venue about possibly running a show there.

On the latest edition of My World (via AdFreeShows), Jeff Jarrett said that he’s heard that the venue charges $20 million dollars to run a show there. Jarrett also stated that he doesn’t see a company running the venue within the next year.

“I heard the number was 20 million. Wembley Stadium, next week Arthur Ashe, built for tennis, wrestling next Wednesday but it ain’t cheap. When I put on my promoter cap and really look at the [return on investment] on what do you have to charge, and I know you’re not gonna get it back on the live event, it’s just I would say impossible. To run a show in the sphere, I don’t see it happening within the next twelve months. I just don’t. I may be wrong, but you’ve got to gross a boatload of revenue just to get to sea level.”

Conrad Thompson went on to cast doubt on the fact that the venue charges that much to run a show. Jarrett continued on and said that a lot of revenue has to be generated for it to make sense for a wrestling promotion.

“It will be interesting, I don’t know. I read a couple of different followers over the weekend about what that UFC event cost. A lot of revenue has got to be generated for that to make sense.”

WWE WrestleMania 41 is set to take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Back in August, Tony Khan talked about possibly running an AEW event at the venue. Learn more about those comments here.
