Charlotte Opens Up About Divorce, Death Of Reid Flair
It's not easy to talk about issues like losing a loved one or going through a very difficult divorce. But for Charlotte, writing about those things in her new book, Second Nature, helps a bit.
She opened up about these issues in an interview with Arm Drag Take Down. She says that she struggled to talk about her divorce from her first husband Riki Johnson, as it's hard to share with others about what happened.
"It really got to me when I first started in WWE that people would make fun of me being divorced" she said. "My dad has been divorced so many times. I don't know why it bothered me. I don't know whether it's because I hate failing or I was embarrassed or comparing myself to my female peers — I don't know. But to just get that off my chest, explain what I've been through or what I've learned, [how] I've come out a better person. I think that was the hardest part to share."
As for Reid, losing someone that age is just never going to be something one can recover from fully.
“I don’t think I’ll ever put losing my little brother to rest, because I have so much guilt,” said Flair. “Just the fact he has never seen me on the main roster is so hard — like I deal with it every, single day.”
Charlotte joined the NXT roster in 2013 and quickly climbed the ranks, reaching the top of NXT and, soon after that, the top of the WWE women's division.
