Chris Jericho Reveals Who He Lost ‘GLOW’ Part To
This is a weird one. Who would have thought?
Chris Jericho had GLOW stars Kimmy Gatewood and Rebekka Johnson, as well as trainer Chavo Guerrero Jr., on his podcast recently. Jericho mentioned that he auditioned for a few roles on the show, including the part of Steel Horse, who becomes a love interest of one of the stars. However, he lost the role to none other than Alex Riley, who was released by the WWE in 2015 after a lackluster run.
"I actually set up my little phone in the dressing room in Edmonton [Canada] after a show in a room by myself and I auditioned (for) Steel Horse, and I didn't get it. And not only I didn't get it, but Alex Riley got it. He's about a one on the scale of wrestling notoriety!" Jericho recalls.
Guerrero brought up that there was, in fact, another person that auditioned for the part, but ultimately didn't get it:
"Chris did great. Chris did great. I mean, I'd put him over. They were looking at me like, 'you know these guys, right?' and I'm like, 'yes.' he recalled. "He did great. We had Miz, The Miz auditioned for it. And then Alex and a couple of other people too. We had different people we were doing. They all were very good. Everyone did very good, but he took it to the next level. In fact, he came out in a bathrobe and kind of in character, in costume, and they were looking for that."
GLOW is currently set to come back to Netflix with a second season. It isn't known when those episodes will drop other than it'll be in 2018.
