Jim Johnston And WWE Part Ways

After much speculation, Fightful has learned that longtime WWE music composer Jim Johnston is no longer with the company.

Rumors surfaced Thursday that Johnston and WWE had parted ways after three decades of working with each other. Fightful, as well as Pro Wrestling Sheet were able to confirm the news. WWE has refused to comment on the matter, saying they don't comment on the status of employees.

Throughout the years, Johnston created iconic themes for WWE Superstars such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, The Rock, Triple H, D-Generation X and others.

Specifics on the situation are unclear, but Fightful has been told that Johnston hadn't been doing much work with the company of late and the departure may have happened well before this week.

For his work on WWE Raw, Johnston is a five-time BMI Cable Award winner. He's rarely seen on WWE programming, but appeared on Total Divas season four, Beyond The May, Piledriver: The Wrestling Album 2 VHS, and a Signature Sounds DVD, in addition to several bonus features on DVD releases.

In recent years, Johnston did work with WWE Studios while new producers CFO$ took over on the entrance theme side of production.

On Johnston's resume includes multiple platinum and gold albums, as well as several top-10 albums for his work on WWE compilations that were released. Throughout his career, Johnston worked with Naughty By Nature, Lil Kim, Killswitch Engage, Three 6 Mafia, and many more.
