Sean Ross Sapp’s Live Smackdown Notes From Rupp Arena For 11/28/17
Many of you saw that I wasn't on this week's Smackdown Live post-show (well, kind of) as I was at Rupp Arena live to check out the show. Here are some notes.
– There are always those fans who chant "TNA" or make sure everyone around them knows that they know what is going on, and they ruin it for kids. Don't be that dickweed. Nobody likes that. One exchange:
– Tye Dillinger beat Mike Kanellis in the dark match, by the way. Dillinger was over. Attendance was good. This was WWE's first TV in
– Rupp in like six or seven years. Here's a look at why. The entire top level was tarped off, likely because Rupp hasn't updated their seating — they just have benches without backs. It's hell. Tickets weren't sold on the hard cam side, but there were a lot of people over there anyway.
– Fightful and Ring of Honor both had Snapchat filters for the show!
– Naomi's entrance is cool live, and they really should have capitalized on merchandising the glowing title. Charlotte was the most over person on the show.
– Ruby Riott (with two T'S!) looked bad. She bumped late, hit the corners awkwardly. Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan about killed Naomi on the barricade.
– Mojo Rawley turning on Zack Ryder got "this is awesome" chants.
– Lonzo and Lavar Ball on a WWE highlight video got way more boos than Ben Roethlisberger. Not easy, even an hour from Cincy.
– Jinder Mahal got good heat from the crowd during his talking segment. AJ Styles, also super over. That Super Styles Clash was really great to see live. I'm ready for The Singh Bros. to be the Indian Hardy Boyz who aren't happy with how Jinder represents them.
– Part of the kendo stick flew in to the third tow in the main event. Sometimes you lose sight of why they keep Orton around. He's over. That's all there is to it.
