Rumor: UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor Allegedly Involved In Bar Room Brawl

Reports have surfaced from both the Daily Mail out of Britain and the Independent out of Ireland saying that UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor was allegedly involved in a bar room brawl this past Sunday Night.

According to reports, the UFC star was seen at the Black Forge on Sunday Night and a melee would break out a short time later. Amongst those involved in the rumored brawl were McGregor, a younger man, a man aged around 50 years old and an unidentified fourth person.

The Independent reports that an unnamed sports celebrity assaulted a young man in the Black Forge, which lead to the older person stepping in and getting attacked for his efforts. The older gentleman is reportedly connected to the senior henchman of the Kinahan cartel, Graham “The Wig” Whelan, who is also a convicted drug dealer.

Also, the Independent says that the unnamed sports celebrity was ushered out of the pub before being driven away from the chaotic scene.

Sources from the Independent are also suggesting that the assault by the unnamed sports celeb is connected to another alleged assault carried out by the same celeb earlier this month.

McGregor, who has yet to comment on the allegations, was caught on camera at the pub by a patron who was taking a selfie. The selfie that includes McGregor can be seen by clicking here.

When approached by the Independent about the alleged involvement of McGregor in the rumored bar room brawl, the Gardai (Irish police force) had the following to say:

“There is no report on this matter and no complaint from any injured parties, patrons of the pub or the pub itself and no statements were taken.”

Since there were no complaints or statements made by those who witnessed or were involved in the alleged brawl, the Gardai won’t be investigating things any further.

If McGregor was involved in the alleged brawl, then it adds to a hectic few weeks of controversy for the fighter. Things kicked off when the UFC Lightweight Champion was caught using a homophobic slur backstage at UFC Fight Night Gdansk, then the fighter hopped the cage at Bellator 187 to celebrate with Charlie Ward.

Besides McGregor not commenting on the alleged incident, the UFC has yet to issue any kind of statement as well.
