Smackdown Viewership About Even From Last Week
Smackdown ratings are pretty strong heading into Survivor Series on Sunday, though they were about the same as last week's numbers.
Showbuzz Daily reports that the show marginally up from last week, scoring 2,607,000 viewers compared to last week's 2,603,000 viewers. It was fifth for the evening, with College Basketball and American Horror Story above it. It scored a 0.82 18-49 rating, which is also about same from last week.
The show's big focus was setting up Survivor Series for this Sunday. After giving a pep talk earlier in the show by the Smackdown Comissioner Shane McMahon, they were attacked at the end of the show by the Raw roster. Multiple Smackdown superstars tried to save face, but the Raw roster was too much for them. Shane McMahon took the biggest beating, being pummled by Kurt Angle, The Shield and Braun Strowman.
Charlotte also had a big night on the brand, as she beat Natalya for the Smackdown women's championship in her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. In a surprise, Ric Flair appeared for the first time on WWE television since his medical scare a few months ago. The two had an emotional moment as they celebrated her victory. That makes the match for Survivor Series as Smackdown Women's champion Charlotte against Raw Women's champion Alexa Bliss.
