Management Says Max Holloway Was Willing To Defend Title Against A Host Of Fighters
The main event of the upcoming UFC 218 card to a big hit when former UFC Lightweight Champion was forced out of his bout against UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway due to a facial injury.
Jose Aldo was announced as the replacement, but apparently Holloway would have defended against almost anyone.
Holloway is represented by Sucker Punch Entertainment and they are stating that the champion was willing to fight a host of fighters.
The fighters listed in the Instagram post include UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor, UFC Interim Lightweight Champion Tony Ferguson, Cub Swanson and Brian Ortega.
McGregor hasn’t been seen in the Octagon since defeating Eddie Alvarez to win the UFC Lightweight Title at UFC 205. Ferguson’s last appearance in the Octagon saw him submit Kevin Lee in the main event of UFC 216 to win the UFC Interim Lightweight Title.
Swanson and Ortega are set to meet each other in the main event of UFC Fight Night Fresno this December.
