Smackdown Viewership Way Up From Last Week

Although yesterday's Raw numbers were middling, there's plenty to be happy about for this week's Smackdown rating.

ShowBuzz Daily reports that Smackdown Live scored 2.6 million viewers, a big jump from last week's 2.1. That was to be expected, considering that not only was Halloween last week, but there was also a sixth game in a hotly contested World Series.

In terms of the 18-49 demographics, Smackdown was third for the night with a 0.82 rating. The 30 for 30 documentary featuring Ric Flair actually finished first for the night, scoring a 0.91. American Horror Story was in second with 0.83.

In terms of viewership, Smackdown scored eighth for the evening.

The show focused on a big WWE title match pitting AJ Styles against Jinder Mahal. after a long, hard fought match Styles scored the victory with the Phenomenal Forearm, marking his second run with the championship after losing it back in January to John Cena. There was also a tag team title match, with Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable scoring a win over The Usos. However, it was via count out, so they did not pick up the titles.

Next week on Smackdown, Charlotte will challenge Natalya for the Women's title. If she wins, Charlotte will be added to the battle of women's champions at Survivor Series.
