WWE Cuts Continue As Multiple NXT Talent Are Released
Sawyer Fulton announced via social media on Friday that he has been released by WWE.
Fulton broke the news via Twitter:
Fulton then added:
After breaking into the business on the independent circuit in Ohio, Fulton signed a developmental deal with WWE in 2012. He got what appeared to be his big break last year, when he was part of the original incarnation of SAnitY, along with Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe and Nikki Cross. However, an injury put Fulton on the shelf, and he was replaced in the group by Killian Dain.
"After my injury I worked as hard as possible to come back, and it just happened to not work out," Fulton wrote as part of a statement posted as an image in the tweet linked above, adding "The last thing I said to [WWE Senior Director of Talent Development] Canyon [Ceman] and Coach [Matt] Bloom was that I'm still young and I will be back in WWE and I fully intend to prove it. I want to be a great professional wrestler, that goal will never change, only the path that takes me there."
Fulton's departure comes less than a week after WWE cut three main roster performers: Emma, Summer Rae and Darren Young. Fightful.com reported at that time that more cuts potentially were in the works.
Later on Friday, NXT trainee Leo Gao was also cut, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet. Gao tweeted about the release shortly following the news.
Sheet reports that Leo injuryed his neck in August during training, and had since been cleared, but the injury was looked at as serious. Gao was popular among those at the Performance Center.
