Stone Cold Steve Austin Talks Brutality In War Games Matches

Stone Cold Steve Austin says NXT's War Games match will be interesting.

The War Games match has been around for over thirty years in professional wrestling. At NXT Takeover in Houston on November 18th, the match will happen for the first time under a WWE banner.  Three teams will face off in two cages and two rings in a match where participants have staggered entrances.

Stone Cold Steve Austin took part in a War Games match in 1992 as part of WCW's Dangerous Alliance. On The Steve Austin Show, the hall of famer talked about the violence involved in the match.

"It's interesting that they are bringing the War Games back because that's a difficult match to work. Especially back in the day, when you said War Game you knew there was going to be blood, buckets of it," said Austin. "I'll never forget that one I worked with all those guys, it was '92 or '93, and man I hit a good one, I had a gusher," he continued.

Austin shared that Dustin Rhodes was on top of him in the ring commenting on the amount of blood coming from Austin. He went on to say he could appreciate some brutality in NXT's War Games

"It's gonna be interesting to see how they work that match because you know you can't go back to that court. I could understand why but I'm a guy that came around in the years that I did so I can appreciate the color aspects of it," said Austin.
