UFC Signs Undefeated Alexa Grasso, First Match Announced

The UFC has announced that undefeated Invicta FC fighter Alexa Grasso has signed with the promotion will face Heather Jo Clark at the TUF Latin America 3 Finale.

This comes after an initial report from Indiscutido.com on August 11, wich was then made by official by UFC later in the day.

Grasso (8-0 MMA) made her professional MMA debut in December 2012 in her native Mexico. During the first 18 months of her career, she got an undefeated record of 5 wins, 3 of which were by TKO and the other 2 by decision.

Clark’s (7-5 MMA, 1-1 UFC) last fight was a loss back in May to current top contender Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Clark came to the UFC as a cast member of TUF 20 in 2014, but was eliminated in the preliminary round by Felice Herrig. That didn’t stop from making her first UFC appearance at the season’s live finale, where she scored a decision win over Bec Rawlings.

Grasso was expected to challenge Livia Renata Souza for the Invicta Strawweight Title at Invicta FC 14 on September 12, 2015, but was forced to withdraw due to injury.

The event takes place November 5th at the Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, Mexico and will be headlined by former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos squaring off against lightweight contender Tony Ferguson, who is on an eight-fight win streak. That fight could be a potential lightweight title eliminator. The only other fight confirmed is a lightweight fight between Beneil Dariush and Rashid Magomedov.
