Roman Reigns Takes Shot At Young Bucks, Bullet Club; Young Bucks Respond

Roman Reigns is none too pleased with a certain tag team doing the "Too Sweet" gestures.

In a recent conference call, Reigns was talking about why his feud with Braun Strowman worked so well and why Strowman is destined to be a major player in WWE’s future before going off on a tangent on why WWE needs original characters and that wrestlers should try and stop imitating DX, a jab at the Bullet Club’s Young Bucks. While Reigns did not mention the Young Bucks or Bullet Club by name, the object of Reigns’ comments was clearly directed at the Young Bucks, the current ROH Six-Man Tag Team champions and the Bullet Club, who have drawn many comparisons to the nWo faction from WCW.

“We don’t need guys running around doing 'Too Sweets' and we don’t need guys acting like they’re DX from 15 years ago. We need original characters, guys who are them. I need Seth Rollins to be Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens to be Kevin Owens, Bray Wyatt to be Bray Wyatt. We need original superstars who have no clue what was done 15, 20 years ago. No disrespect of our history and our past, but we’re trying to create something new here and that’s the most important thing. [We need] to be true to our character, we’re true to our originality in where we’re trying to move forward with the product. That’s why I told Cena I’m not the next Cena because that would be burying me,” Reigns said.

Last month, the Young Bucks were sent a cease and desist letter by WWE, who claimed they were using the company's intellectual property, in particular the "Too Sweet" hand gesture. Instead of fighting WWE on being able to use the hand gesture, the duo instead took the opportunity to create a new t-shirt, which became the highest-sold shirt on Pro Wrestling Tees for the month of September.

Matt Jackson tweeted in response to the comments, as did his brother Nick

Reigns' comments can be heard in the video at this link.
