Augusto Mendes Injured, Off UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo

The upcoming UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo card has taken a hit as Augusto Mendes has suffered an injury and will no longer be facing Boston Salmon.

Salmon is expected to remain on the card at this time because UFC officials are seeking a replacement opponent for him to fight.

Mendes actually announced his injury and withdraw from the event through Instagram:

–Infelizmente não vou poder lutar no UFC São Paulo no dia 28 de outubro. Me lesionei durante o meu treino e eu precisei sair da luta. Me desculpem a todos os meus fãs que esperavam me assistir ao vivo pela primeira vez lutando MMA no Brasil. Estou me concentrando no tratamento agora e tentando me recuperar o mais rápido possível para estar pronto para a próxima. Deus —- sabe de todas as coisas e eu confio Nele! Obrigado a todo mundo pelas mensagens de apoio. ⠀⠀ –Unfortunately I won't be able to fight on UFC São Paulo on October 28th. I got hurt on my training and I need to pull out of the fight. Im sorry to all my fans that were expecting to watch me live for the first time fighting MMA in Brazil. I'm focusing on the treatment now and trying to heal asap to be ready for the next one. God —- knows everything and I trust Him. Thank you everybody for the messages supporting me !
