Report: Middleweight Bout Added To UFC Fight Night Fresno

A middleweight division affair is the latest addition to the UFC Fight Night Fresno card as Eryk Anders is going to be seeing action against John Phillips.

MMA Today was the first to report the fight.

Anders (9-0-0) has already competed once under the UFC banner, defeating Rafael Natal by first round knockout at UFC On Fox 25. Anders is also a former Legacy Fighting Alliance Middleweight Title, defeating Brendan Allen at LFA 14 to win the gold. Anders also competed once in the Bellator MMA promotion, defeating Brian White by first round TKO at Bellator 162.

Phillips (21-6-0-1NC) is making his UFC debut in this fight and he is doing so on the strength of a four fight winning streak. Phillips won the Fightstar Promotions one night middleweight tournament in 2013, which included a win over UFC veteran Charlie Ward. Phillips last defeat came over four years ago at Cage Warriors 54 and that loss came to UFC veteran Jesse Taylor.

UFC Fight Night Fresno takes place on Saturday, December 9 from the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
