KUSHIDA Honored That Daniel Bryan Wants To Wrestle Him

Back in June, Daniel Bryan was asked to name some guys he'd like to wrestle if he ever made a comeback to the ring. One of the guys he mentioned was KUSHIDA, the recently-former ROH Television Champion as well as the winner of 2 out of the last 3 Best of the Super Juniors tournaments in New Japan.

This past week, Sports Illustrated asked KUSHIDA if he would like to wrestle Daniel Bryan. He responded in the resoundlingly affirmative.

"Of course my answer is Yes! Yes! Yes! I was really honored to hear what he'd said. When I was a fan I really loved the American Dragon and Curry Man team and their chase for the IWGP Junior Tag Championships. A guy like Bryan, or Rey Mysterio, they aren't necessarily the biggest, but they still managed to get to the top of the business. As someone of roughly the same size, I really hold them in high regard. They're proof you can live your dreams if you believe and work hard. If he ever comes back, I'd love to wrestle him. I think it wouldn't be a case of looking to the crowd, we'd just be focused on each other and let our wrestling do the talking. I hope it'll happen sometime."

It might happen before the end of 2018, if Daniel Bryan gets his way. He's been using Twitter Q & A's to fantasy book his post-WWE career, kind of, and it seems New Japan/Ring of Honor is the path he's likely to take. Plus, ROH's COO Joe Koff has already extended an invite.

So, while KUSHIDA might hava lost the Ring of Honor Television Title on Friday night, he's still got that hypothetical Daniel Bryan match to look forward to.
