MAIN CARD

Ryan Martin vs. Francisco Rojo: This was a weird fight to start the pay-per-view off. Martin looked terrible early on in the fight as Rojo threw a lot of punches to Martin early on to pressure, but didn’t land a lot. Martin got better starting in the fifth round and at times, the fight became a slugfest. The awkward part of the fight came at times when Martin, the much taller fighter, started throwing several punches below the belt and was warned twice by the referee to stop it. Martin eventually got a point deducted in the ninth round for repeated low blows. The scorecards were weird, with one judge giving Rojo a 98-91 card.

Official Result: Ryan Martin defeated Francisco Rohas via split decision (91-98, 96-93, 95-94)

Diego De La Hoya vs. Randy Caballero: Fun, action-filled fight and easily De La Hoya’s best performance. Both boxers have been fighting well throughout the fight but De La Hoya was always one step ahead in terms of hand speed and instincts. De La Hoya targeted Caballero’s left eye early in the fight and Caballero’s left eye started to swell badly. De La Hoya puts himself in the conversation for a junior featherweight world title shot, perhaps sometime in late 2018. De La hoya still has room to grow, especially knockout power, but he is very impressive nonetheless.
