David Haye Aiming To Return In December, Potentially In Rematch Against Tony Bellew
The intense blood feud between Tony Bellew and David Haye that engulfed the British boxing scene throughout several months is not over, according to some reports.
Boxingscene.com reported that Haye, who is recovering from a torn Achilles as a result of the fight, is rehabbing nicely and is hoping to return to the ring around December.
Haye has said his recovery is going better than what doctors expected. Haye's trainer David Coldwell told Sky Sports that talks of having a rematch against Bellew are "positive."
"All I know is that obviously there are talks going on," Coldwell said. "They have been back and forth for quite a while now really I suppose, but I believe there are positive talks going on. It is one of those fights that are possible. Whether or not it gets finalized or not, I'll believe it when I see it. There are other options, but we're just seeing which one is the best one really. Best and most viable, that's what you've got to look at."
Haye, a former WBA world heavyweight and unified cruiserweight champion, was stopped in the 11th round by Bellew in their fight which took place on March 4. The buildup to the fight was very heated and filled with smack talk that had Haye not only call out Bellew, but also make fun of Haye's fans.
