Dana White Getting Ready To Hear Excuses For Mayweather Loss

UFC President Dana White is going to be in attendance at UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor makes his pro boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather.

White is getting himself ready to hear all the excuses coming his way when the lightweight champion pulls the huge upset.

“The thing about shocking the boxing world is that the boxing world is saying dumb stuff like, ‘This guy doesn’t even belong in there and he doesn’t have any chance,’” White said at a media scrum. “A guy who hits as hard as Conor McGregor absolutely has a chance. And when he knocks Floyd Mayweather out on Saturday, they’re all going to say, ‘Floyd was too old and this and that.’ They’ll have a whole different set of excuses.”

McGregor is a huge underdog in the super fight, as Mayweather has competed 49 times in the ring and McGregor doesn’t even have any amateur fights under his belt.

The UFC President is also a superstitious person and that is why he is wearing McGregor shirts all week.

“Just so you know, the Patriots won the Super Bowl last year,” White said. “I wore Patriots shirts every day leading up to the Super Bowl, so not that I’m superstitious or anything, but I’m wearing Conor McGregor shirts every day.”

Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather takes place on Saturday, August 26 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
