On the May 3 episode of WWE Speed, Ricochet beat Johnny Gargano in the finals of the WWE Speed Championship Tournament to become the inaugural champion.
The Number One Contender’s Tournament for Ricochet’s title began on the May 8 episode of WWE Speed. Ivar and Apollo Crews battled it out as they made their WWE Speed debuts. Ivar ultimately emerged victorious and advanced to the next round.

The tournament will continue on the May 15 episode of WWE Speed, where Tyler Bate will face Berto.
