This marks the first successful televised title defense for Rhodes. He’s held the title for 27 days after defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL.
AJ earned his title shot by winning a tournament, first defeating Kevin Owens and Rey Mysterio in a triple threat bout and then besting LA Knight in the finals.
