WWE Announces Raw Brand First-Round Matches For WWE King And Queen Of The Ring Tournaments

The WWE King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments are taking shape.

WWE King and Queen of the Ring will be the next WWE PLE and will take place from Saudi Arabia on May 25.

However, before a King and Queen can be crowned, a tournament must take place to determine who on the WWE roster should have the right to declare themselves as WWE royalty.

During the WWE Backlash 2024 event, WWE officially announced the first-round matches for the tournament coming from the Monday Night Raw brand.

In men’s action, Gunther will take on Sheamus. Also, Ricochet will take on the new Monday Night Raw star Ilja Dragunov. Then, Drew McIntyre will renew hostilities with Finn Balor. Rounding out the men’s side of the WWE Raw King of the Ring bracket, WWE veterans Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio will face off.

In women’s action, Lyra Valkyria will take on Asuka, Zoey Stark will do battle with Ivy Nile, and Natalya will face off with IYO Sky. Rounding out that side of the bracket, former Queen Zelina Vega will look to retain the crown as she takes on Shayna Baszler in first-round action.

Adam Pearce, WWE Raw GM, would later announce that all eight matches would be taking place during the May 6 episode of Monday Night Raw from Hartford Connecticut.
