Max Caster explains how getting suspended was beneficial.
Max Caster has been the center of controversy at times throughout his AEW career. He is sometimes criticized for the references he makes in his on-screen raps, as he has brought up a variety of questionable subjects. Meanwhile, Caster has enjoyed plenty of success as well, as he is a former AEW World Tag Team Champion and World Trios Champion as a member of The Acclaimed.
In a new video on Isiah Kassidy’s YouTube channel, he spoke with Max Caster, and they discussed Max’s run in AEW up to this point, among other topics. In one highlight, Kassidy brought up Caster getting suspended in 2021 for his controversial rap that referenced Simone Biles’ mental health, Duke Lacrosse rape allegations, and fake PCR tests. Kassidy asked Caster to describe how he felt about getting suspended.
“Sitting at home for three or four weeks, it just makes you angry, honestly. Whether or not what I said was right or wrong, still angry. I want to be at work. I want to be wrestling. We had just gotten out of Daily’s Place, and we had just gotten on the road, so we’re hitting these cities, and it’s cool, going out a little bit. Then it’s like, ‘Yeah, you did this thing, you gotta stay home.’ I understand, I understand why. I understand what I said that caused that, but yeah, you’re just angry sitting at home, honestly,” Caster said.
Kassidy started to transition to a new topic by noting that Caster obviously regretted it, but Max noted that he wasn’t sure whether that was the case. He explained how the suspension helped his career
“I don’t know if I regret it. That kind of helped my career, more than anything, believe it or not. Again, right or wrong, helped The Acclaimed and it helped me a lot, and it gave me a reputation, and one that I like to live up [laughs],” Caster said.
During the interview, Max Caster discussed not having a filter. Check out his comments here.
