Bianca Belair And Carmelo Hayes Drafted To SmackDown, Seth Rollins And Jey Uso Drafted To Raw In First Round Of 2024 WWE Draft

An NXT call-up and more were part of the first round of 2024 WWE Draft.

The first round of the 2024 WWE Draft on April 26 saw different strategies from both WWE Raw and WWE Friday Night SmackDown.

The first round saw Triple H announce the draft picks for Monday Night Raw and Cody Rhodes announced the picks for WWE Friday Night SmackDown.

SmackDown had the first overall pick and selected former WrestleMania headliner Bianca Belair, ensuring that Bianca stays on the brand. WWE Raw chose Jey Uso as their first overall pick, likely to ensure that whoever wins the World Heavyweight Championship match at WWE Backlash between Uso and Damian Priest will stay on Monday nights.

The second pick for WWE SmackDown saw the first official NXT call-up for the evening with Carmelo Hayes being drafted to Team Blue. Seth Rollins was the second pick for Monday Night Raw and he will be staying on Monday nights for at least another year. Rollins recently underwent surgery after competing on back-to-back nights at WrestleMania XL.

Carmelo Hayes would then come out for his first promo as a WWE Friday Night Smackdown Superstar, challenging Cody Rhodes to a match that will take place later on April 26.
