Jim Ross Thinks Aleister Black “Could Well Be A Huge Star In The Making”
Jim Ross enjoyed calling the Hideo Itami-Aleister Black match at NXT Takeover, and thinks Black has what it takes to be a "huge star."
Over the last year, Jim Ross has been making special appearances as a commentator for WWE. He appeared during some of Wrestlemania 33 and the entire Mae Young Classic. This past Saturday, Ross called the match between Hideo Itami and Aleister Black at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III. In his recent blog, Ross said he was pleased with the match and the team with which he shared the commentator's table.
"Appreciate the hospitality and respect shown me by not only Mauro but Nigel McGuiness and Percy Watson too. I thought the Aleister Black vs Hideo Itami bout that we broadcast was a helluva wrestling match and one that I really enjoyed being a part of. Itami seems to be more at ease as a villain and Black could well be a huge star in the making much sooner than later for NXT and subsequently at the next level, too," wrote Ross.
Black was the victor in the match, in front of the crowd at the Barclays Center. Ross said the crowd at the event was "unique."
"There is a discernable, unique vibe at NXT events that I have personally experienced from working at two, NXT Takeover events, in Chicago and in Brooklyn. The audience seemingly has made a strong emotional investment in the NXT talents and it shows," wrote Ross.
NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III also featured Corey Graves as a guest commentator. Fightful Wrestling provided live coverage and a recapping podcast for the event.
