Sami Zayn Wins Intercontinental Title At WrestleMania XL, Gunther’s Historic Reign Ends At 666 Days
Sami Zayn has done the impossible and defeated Gunther to capture his fourth WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Gunther, who will forever go down in history as the man who usurped The Honky Tonk Man’s run as the longest-reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion, was Champion for 666 days until he met an absolutely game Sami Zayn at WWE WrestleMania XL.
Sami Zayn dipped into his old bag of tricks and landed a BRAINBUSTAH, The Top-Rope Brainbuster he used during his time as the El Generico, followed by a Helluva Kick for the victory.

Sami Zayn celebrated the win with his wife. Prior to the match, he got a pep talk from her and words of encouragement from both Kevin Owens and Chad Gable. Gable, who helped Sami train for the match against Gunther in the storyline, said that Sami was going to end up owing him a favor.
This is the first time Sami Zayn has won the Intercontinental Championship as a babyface and he intends to be a fighting champion.
