Naomi: Teaming With Bianca Belair And Jade Cargill Is History, We Want It To Be As Great As It Can Be
Naomi wants her trio with Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair to be great.
At WrestleMania 40, Naomi will team with Cargill and Belair to take on the Damge CTRL trio of Dakota Kai, Asuka, and Kairi Sane in a six-woman tag team bout. This will be the in-ring debut for the trio of Naomi, Cargill, and Belair, as the group was formed on the March 29 episode of SmackDown.
While appearing on a recent episode of The Ringer Wrestling Show, Naomi talked about the importance and magnitude of the trio and how she wants it to be as great as it can possibly be.
“We just want it to be as great as it can be. Especially with Jade and I being in different companies a year ago and finally making our way to WWE. All of us tiered together, we understand the magnitude of how special it is and the fact that how unique this is. In all the years of wrestling, we’ve never had three minority black women at the same time at this level to be a superteam and a faction. It’s really cool, it’s really special and it’s definitely history and it’s something that needs to happen for women and for wrestling to inspire the next wave. We just want it to be as great as possible, we are very excited to be together. I’m super excited, it’s always been a dream of mine. Even when Bianca came in, pushing for her and wanting to do something with her but there were bigger plans for her, but timing is everything, so after everything we’ve both been through, for it all to come to this moment, it’s very special. It makes it more meaningful that it took so long for it to happen. I think about the women before us and how hard they fought, especially with the movie that I filmed a year or two ago that’s about to come out. Just being able to dive in on the history of women’s wrestling and how hard it was for them to be seen or get the respect. Women in the 50’s, they were putting in work and so for us to get to this moment now, it’s very very special. I don’t take it for granted. I just want to to be amazing and for us to be as great as we can be.”
