On April 1, Fightful reported that AEW released Anthony Henry, among several others, in a round of cuts. Henry had been wrestling for the company since 2021, and he frequently competed on ROH programming as well. Henry is currently sidelined with a broken jaw that he suffered at DPW Live 5. During the ROH Supercard of Honor media call, Tony Khan said that Anthony Henry would be welcomed back to AEW/ROH once he was cleared.

Henry then took to Twitter/X to comment and said that while he was not happy with what happened earlier in the week, he was ecstatic about being back. He wrote that he believed in the locker room, and he could not wait to be back in action.

Henry then thanked everyone who voiced their support for him. He noted that he did not know that what he did impacted so many people. Henry stated that he had never had anyone rally behind him like that, and he said that he loved everyone.

When one fan asked whether AEW reached out after his release due to the backlash, Henry simply said that he was happy to have his job back.

As of this writing, there is no word on when Henry will return to the ring. Fightful will provide more information as it becomes available.

Tony Khan stated that the AEW roster cuts were “fluid” situations. Check out his comments here.
