UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather are just a little over a week away, but talk of a rematch has already surfaced.
Dana White is the UFC President and he questions just why the super fight is going to need a second go around.
“What’s the point?” White told MMA Junkie. ”What’s the point if Conor beats him – to do it again?”
Mayweather has had rematch clauses in past boxing match, including his bout against Manny Pacquiao a few years ago.
The UFC President also believes that McGregor is going to beat Mayweather so badly that there won’t be a need for a rematch either way.
“Conor’s going to get in there and rough him up – probably fight him a lot like (Marcos Maidana did in 2014),” he said. ”I stopped doubting the kid a long time ago, and I’m hoping for this knockout. I’m hoping for him to knock Floyd out.”
Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather takes place on Saturday, August 26 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
