Timothy Thatcher Is Not From The UK, He Is From Sacramento, California
Timothy Thatcher is not from Europe.
Throughout the years, many fans have reffered to Thatcher as one of the best wrestlers from Europe, but as it turns out, the former WWE NXT star is actually from Sacramento, California.
While speaking to Fightful Overbooked’s In The Weeds podcast for a new interview, Thatcher cleared up the misconception and chalked it up to the fact that he spent so much time wrestling in Europe.
“I am from Sacramento, California. That is correct. I think because I spent so much time in Europe. I lived in Germany for three years and I was working for just wXw in Germany and then all the England companies, it’s close and easy to work in England when you live in Germany. It was that run. Also, when I started, my trainer originally put me with a schtick that was along those lines because I kind of did my young boy training in England. For three months, I lived in a ring van and worked for the famous Brian Dixon at All Star Wrestling shows, where I would set up the ring and that stuff. I got my early experience in England. I’ve spent a good portion of my life in Europe. Now, my beautiful wife is English. So, there are a lot of ties. I think it’s prevalent because my life isn’t really an open book so people can jump to whatever conclusions they want. Not a proper Brit. People find it off I’m from California as well. ‘That doesn’t fit either.’ I’m a wandering man at this point [laughs].”
Elsewhere in the interview, Thatcher praised referee Frank Gastineau for stopping a match after he was knocked out. Fans can learn more here.
