Timothy Thatcher Credits Referee Frank Gastineau For Taking Care Of Him After Being Knocked Out
Timothy Thatcher sings the praises of Frank Gastineau.
At MLW Never Say Never 2023, Timothy Thatcher competed in a match against Tracy Williams. During the bout, Thatcher was knocked out, which allowed Williams to pick up the victory via referee’s decision.
While speaking to Fightful Overbooked’s In The Weeds podcast for a new interview, Thatcher recalled the incident and praised Frank Gastineau for calling the match at the right time.
“Professional wrestling is a very dangerous thing. Thank goodness for referee Frankie [Frank Gastineau] for saving my life because I was out and I was still trying to get up. He was like, ‘No, you’re not.’ Thankfully he called the match because that could have been a big situation. Stuff happens. It’s unfortunate, but the more damage we accumulate for many years, it starts adding up. Accidents like that, certain situations come out more and more. Thankfully, I was alright, I just time traveled a bit where one minute I’m in the ring and the next minute I’m sitting on a chair in the locker room [staring] and then doctor comes over, ‘You alright?’ ‘Yeah.’ Very scary, but again, thanks so much to referee Frankie for taking care of me. Those things always weigh on your mind. Hopefully this time….I’m in there with Matt Riddle so a knockout is always a possibility because as fun loving as that man can be, he’s also a dangerous individual. Let’s hope I keep my hands up this time.”
