AJ Styles: Sting Went A Lot Longer Than I’m Going, It’s Awesome He Ended On His Terms

AJ Styles is glad that Sting got to retire on his own terms.

‘The Icon’ said goodbye to the world of professional wrestling at AEW Revolution, as he teamed with Darby Allin against The Young Bucks in his final match. Many stars around the world of wrestling have celebrated Sting’s career, and now, fans can add AJ Styles to that list.

While speaking to the Battleground Podcast for a new interview, Styles noted that Sting’s career went a lot longer than his is going to.

“They say never meet your heroes. I got to meet one of mine, obviously, it was Sting. He is such a great guy. He’s a nice guy, has always been a nice guy. It just made my day to meet somebody like that who I admired so much and enjoyed watching. He has definitely earned his time in pro wrestling. He went a lot longer than I’m going to. It’s awesome that he gets to end on his terms and not someone else’s. When you go out on an injury, that’s not the way you want to go out. For him to end it when he wants to end it, that’s awesome.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Styles talked about the possibility of Tama Tonga in WWE. Fans can learn more here.

Styles will go one-on-one with LA Knight at WrestleMania 40. Fans can see the updated card for both nights of the show by visiting our events section.
